Shelby Newsome is a writer, editor, and bookseller living in Maryland. Her writing appears (or is forthcoming) in The Rumpus, Rose Books Reader, and other outlets. She is a contributing editor for Writer’s Digest’s 2nd Draft service. As a lead bookseller, Shelby fosters community by doing her favorite thing: yapping about books. Additionally, she writes event pitches for the indie bookstore and hosts a monthly book club.

She’s currently at work on her first novel.
